My Current Shopping Cart (Under $100)

You guys, how gorgeous is this coat from H&M and it's less than $100!

Everyone needs a fabulous tote handbag to just throw on with everything. I found this one from Zara. I want it because this color is easy to wear with anything and it's pretty large.

Do I really have to explain why I picked this one. I think it's pretty self-explanatory? What say you?  Pretty colors!

Boots Season | Over The Knee Boots

So at last, my favourite seasons of the year have arrived! You guys may have noticed I'm not really a big fan of Summer and Spring because I'm not really into showing legs. I prefer pants to skirts and dresses all day, everyday. However, these days because of the Full Midi Skirt trend, I have started to fall in love with skirts again. (Check out this post of my favourite Full Midi Skirts) However, once a skirt is shorter than midi length, I will always find one excuse or the other to not purchase it.

The hottest boots trend for this season are the Over The Knee Boots. I mean, these boots are gorgeous (when worn appropriately), but some of them can be really tacky. That second part is the main reason why I'm not all over this trend, except from the fact that I am not much of a 'trend-follower'. I feel like it's so difficult to find the right pair of over the knee boots that looks decent. Are you with me on this one?

Therefore, for this Fall/Winter 2013, I will be wearing a lot of ankle boots and Knee high boots.

How To Layer Necklaces

I purchased this gorgeous dress from Forever 21 a while back. You guys, the material is so freaking soft! I danced around in it for about 15 minutes when I first tried it on! Anyway,  I was thinking of a way to style it that would be different. Normally, you would pair a print dress with bold color accessories. So, I decicded to pair this gorgeous beaded necklace from Ghana with this Orange necklace from Mandee boutique with the dress. It gives the outfit a little bit more of an edge and keeps the neckline busy.

(Sorry about the many 'sos' and 'prettys' in the video lol.) I was so tired because just got back from an event and decided to film real quick. I was a little bit shaky, but I'll do better next time, I promise! ^_^ Watch in FULL HD.

Hopefully you guys enjoyed the video. If you would like to see more videos, please let me know and post your suggestions in the comments.

1: ASOS 2: ASOS 3: Choies 4: ASOS 5: ASOS 6: ModCloth

Aside from Plaid/Tartan, one of the hottest trends that I'm noticing right now is the Full Midi Skirt. It's been around for quite a while (Since Spring/Summer), but I think I'm just catching the fever! I've never been a skirt person, so up until now, I rarely ever browsed through the 'skirts' section of online stores.

However, after stars like Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Lopez and Kourtney Kardashian were spotted wearing the trend, I became so into it! Midi skirts are so feminine and lady-like. They can also help create the illusion of curves or the 'ultimate' hourglass body-type. Best of all, these skirts can still be worn in the colder months because of their bulky frame and length.

I noticed that stores like ASOS and ModCloth carry a wide variety of these full midi skirts, so you can check them out. I have included the links to these skirts in the picture above, which are some of my current favourite midi skirts! Are digging this trend as much as I am? I'm definitely adding at least 5 of these skirts to my closet ASAP!

Prints, Denim, and Turbans

I have been loving denim for the past few months like crazy! Almost every other day, I rock a denim outfit. Coincidentally, all my denim items were purchased from Forever21. I got this denim shirt about 2 weeks ago or so when they had their Extra 50% off sale items promo and I absolutely love it. It's light-wash and it has this unique Ikat print detail across the shoulder from front to back. I've been pairing it with bright skirts and jeans.

Finally, the most dreaded season is almost here and I now have to face the reality of the situation. About 2 months ago, I decided to wear my hair out for at least 2 months just to keep it healthy before going back to any full protective style. So with the cold weather approaching, I have been thinking of different options to protect my hair from the harsh cold.

Shirt: Forever 21 | Scarf: Ardene | LOVE this option Sears  | Sunnies: Sirens | Earrings: Ardene

After watching loads of YouTube videos, I have decided that scarves and beanies will be my go-to. This scarf I'm wearing is from Ardene. I love their scarves because they have so many unique and vibrant prints (mostly in-store) to choose from and they never run out of them.
Do you do any protective hairstyles during the colder months?

Tartan Love

So, one of the hottest trends for this Fall/Winter is Tartan/Plaid. Tartan is very versatile and lot's of celebrities have been spotted rocking this trend in different ways: tops, skirts, jackets, bag, and so on.

Tartan Love

Topshop long sleeve dress, $73 / Long sleeve top, $24 / Topshop polyester t shirt / Zara checked pants / Mango pointed-toe pumps, $76

I love the classic Red, Grey, Black and White plaid prints, but I also really appreciate other versions of the trend: Black, Grey and White, Blue and Green, and many more.I feel like the other versions of plaid allows for more versatility, for example: mixing prints
You could rock these Blue Zara plaid pants and the Red Topshop shirt with some Red or Nude colored pumps!

Will you be sporting this major Fall trend? What's your take? Also, which tartan print is your favorite?

Weather Update: Signs of Fall are beginning to show. Somehow in my mind, Fall is equivalent to Winter. I know that sounds messed up, but when I think about Fall the only other thing that comes to my mind is the upcoming Winter. I feel like we don't get enough days for Fall. (Who's with me?)  Today was really dark and grey out here. I don't think the sun came out to say hi even for once. Regardless, Fall is still my favorite season of the year and I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. Which season is your favorite?

Hair Update: Of late, I've been wearing my hair out a lot by using bantu knots. Do you guys know any other natural hairstyles? I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, and enjoy the rest of your week!

Back to My Roots: Duro Olowu

Some of you many not be aware, but I am a Nigerian by birth. I lived in Nigeria for 12 years, then I moved to Ghana in 2006 and now I am in Canada. Most of you guys have never heard my voice. No, I do not have a Canadian/American accent. I have a mix of Nigerian and Ghanaian accent mostly because of the people in my immediate surroundings. However, most people would say I'm more of a Ghanaian than a Nigerian, but my full name Kikelomo Omolehinwa would, no doubt, tell anyone that I'm 100% Nigerian. Lol.

Blouse: Forever 21 | Shorts: Duro Olowu For JCP | Shoes: GoJane | Bag: Louis Vuitton | Earrings: Ardene | Wristwatch: Avon's Men's Wristwatch

Total Cost: Approx. $61

About the Outfit: I was very pleased to get my hands on this pair of shorts from the Duro Olowu - JCP collection during my trip to the States. Duro Olowu is a Nigerian designer based in London, UK. I found this pair in the clearance rack and I quickly grabbed it because I absolutely love the vibrant print and pattern on it. I'm not really a shorts person; however, when I saw Ms. Sole of Love, Life & Pearls in a similar pair, I knew I wanted one for myself!

Do you currently live in your country/place of birth, or have you moved? And how many times?

Vintage Gold Necklace

Hey you, thanks for reading (not everyone does). How's it going? How gorgeous is this necklace? Ever since it was sent to me by eFoxcity (affordable and fashionable clothing and accessories), I've been wearing it almost every single day! I mean... it goes with almost anything, and it's very lightweight so it's not my fault. :p     I love it so much!

However, after wearing it a couple of times, I noticed the golden color on the chain started to fade off. I know it's not an actual Gold necklace, but I was a bit disappointed by how quickly it lost its color. Other than this, it's perfect! When I put it on now, I make sure the neckline of my blouse/dress covers the chain, then I'm good to go.

What do you think? Would you buy a piece of jewellery even tough you knew it would start to fade/wash off eventually?

Sequins And Stones + Blog Collab

Sales have been crazy of late. The other day, I randomly walked into a Forever21 store to pick up only a couple of pairs of jeans. Then I started walking around and found myself in the sale section of the store. Then I looked up, guess what I saw? Additional 50% off all sale items! Just imagine how I felt. Automatically, like I always do in the sale sections at every store, I went to the beginning of the rack and started scanning the items from top to bottom! I ended up pulling out over 20 items of all sorts. This blouse was one of the items I picked. I'm beginning to like sequins a lot these days. I wonder how long this will last. Are you a fan of sequins?

Covered In Denim

Denim Blouse + Denim Skinnies: Forever 21 | Shoes: GoJane | Necklace: Mandee Boutique (NYC) | Wristwatch: Avon's Men | Bag: Louis Vuitton

Total Outfit Cost: Approx: $63.80

Today, for the first time this month, I was able to shoot some blog pictures! Thanks to my mum for taking these. These days, I'm really loving casual classic laid back, but statement wardrobe pieces. It's always about comfort anytime I get dressed. Do you remember this other post where I told you I was finding it difficult to get a pair of jeans that fits well? Well, I'm not looking anymore. I got these skinnies for just $7.80 from Forever 21 and they fit like a dream! I was so excited when I tried them in the changing room. They are so comfortable, I could even sleep in them!

Also, while strolling on Broadway Street in NY, I found this boutique called 'Mandee' where I bought several huge statement necklaces. You know I rarely put on earrings, so I love my necklaces! If you're in the NY area, you should definitely check their store out! They have so many trendy and gorgeous pieces.

Which piece do you love more: Earrings or Necklaces + Which brand makes your favourite pair of jeans?

New Things

Black and Gold Studded booties: Dolce Vita | Red & Green Sandals: Go Jane | Black and Gold Sandals: MakeMeChic

So, it's my birthday today. I'm currently vacationing in my lovely hotel in NYC. I decided to do some shopping just because... My actual birthday present to myself are those Black and Gold studded booties by Dolce Vita. You guys know I love a good bargain. These booties originally cost about $220; however, I managed to snag them up for $48.60! I love them and can't wait to rock them in the Fall.

I also got those Red and Green ones because they're similar to the Steve Madden Marelene ones that I've been stalking for months now, but the prices have refused to go down. So I got these from GoJane online for less than half of the Steve Madden price. The Black and Gold ones are also similar to another designer pair, but I can't remember which designer. I saw then first on an instagram picture and fell in love.

Which pair do you like most? What did you get yourself on your birthday?
