Western Fashion Meets Ankara.

Hello!!! Happy Friday!! How's your day going?

Color is one of the key factors that influences and inspires my outfits. I love colors and I use them however I want. I don't try to follow most rules... I just do! God bless whoever instituted color block :)

I brought back with me from Ghana, some African print (commonly referred to as Ankara in Nigeria) accessories like:clutches, bangles, earrings and necklaces.  This outfit was one of the results of my brainstorming on what to wear with the accessories. I ended up wearing this to church some weeks ago.

Blouse: Dynamite | Skirt: Urban behavior | Shoes: Urban planet | Earrings, Clutch, Bangle and Necklace: Ghana. (I have some for sale)

Total outfit cost: $50.5

What I like about this outfit most is, the clutch followed by the blouse. The stripes in front are bigger than the ones behind.

What/Who inspires your different looks? Don't forget to comment, rate, share and follow! :)

Have a safe weekend!

DIY: Inspired by Wildfox Couture

I think this is a very creative and practical DIY. Add a little extra something to your jumpers, sweaters or cardigans! I will definitely try this out - after I'm done with my midterms that is! :)

Once a Week Chic

Hey there!

So, I discovered this new Fab website called Once A Week Chic. Basically, the website showcases one look each week. This look is made up of trendy, stylish and affordable pieces. The single pieces that come together to form the look are then sold either together as the whole look or alone (piece by piece).

[caption id="attachment_1405" align="aligncenter" width="470"] Taken from their 'About Us' page[/caption]

The Fab thing is, you can buy a complete look each week, for just $194. This includes, accessories, bottoms, tops and shoes; so everything basically from head to toe!! Also, they are US-based but ship worldwide for only $9.95!

Although the looks change each week, you can still view previous featured looks but, only shop for the current look! (If the previous look is not sold out, you can still shop for it!)

I think it's a pretty cool idea and yes, I would recommend it to a friend. :)

Head to Once A Week Chic right now, to view and shop this week's look before it sells out! :)

FAVORITE SPRING 2013 RUNWAY LOOKS - 1

OH Boy! There's a whole lot of talented people in the world!

I was going through lots of runways way looks  for Spring 2013 by various designers so, I decided to share a few of my favorites I've seen so far! I have broken them down into parts and this is the first one. These looks reflect my personal style :) I love these looks because of their creativity, color and the fact that they are very wearable!

Some of the designers include:

Micheal Kors, Victoria Beckham, Zac Posen, Burberry Prorsum, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Oscar de la Renta
Enjoy!

What do you think of these looks? Which is your favorite? Although the Victotria Beckham black midi dresses caught my eye, for some reason, the Black maxi Oscar de la Renta dress with the gold belt stood out to me! It' just perfect! :)

BLACK AND GOLD

Hello Blog-reader, I hope you're having a great day so far! :)

There are so many combination trends hitting runways and streets this season. some of these trends are: Orange and Pink (and other similar shades); Blue/Purple with White and Black; Red (this is one of the versatile colors. it has been mixed and matched with so many other colors like black, white, grey, pink and orange); Monochrome (Black and white); Burgundy and Black; Burnt Orange and Black; Mustard and Black/Hot Pink; different shades of Blue mixed together; and many more!!!

Black and Gold/ Silver has also made a huge statement in terms of accessories! I, however, prefer the Black and Gold trend to Black and Silver. There's a lot of detailing created with these colors. You have: patterns on necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings; there's also studs and 'spikes' on heels of boots, shoulders of sweaters and jackets, on illusory dresses; they're also on many clutches and bags!

What I LOVE about Black and Gold is, it gives an outfit and 'edge'. You can be all girly with your lace dress and cute flats but then, the moment you put on say, a black leather jacket with a studded collar, your outfit has been 'stepped-up'.

Here are some pictures of this trend in motion:

Have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by! :)

Bring your shoes back to life!

Hey guys,
This is a very simple DIY. It takes less than 7 minutes to complete.

Do you have any peep toe heels or even flats you are getting bored with? Here's how to make them interesting again! (I learned this from a friend)
image

What you'll need:
1. Any peep toe shoe
2. A small piece of fabric
3. A pair of scissors
4. 5-7 minutes

image

If your shoe is a plain color, use a printed fabric but if it's printed use a plain one.
image

Steps
1. Cut out 2 sizable rectangular shapes from the fabric. (cut depending on how big you want your bow)
2. Tie the bow at the peep toe part of your shoe. (tie it depending on how dramatic you want it too)
3. Check for any mistakes or imperfections.

Viola you're done! Your shoes should look different now!

*I don't recommend using glue just in case sometimes you don't want the bow!
